This is a private residence built by Professor Harusada Suginome of Hokkaido Imperial University (currently Hokkaido University), which is a two-story wooden-framed brick building built in 1933. It is a Western-style building strongly influenced by British architecture, and is equipped with central heating and flush toilets, which are rare at that time.
